Pastor Profile - Bella Vista Community Church

Based on the results of our church survey, the following key characteristics and attributes of the role of Pastor Next are outlined below as ideal qualifications for the implementation of our church’s
mission and vision statements.

An ideal pastoral candidate would have strengths as a preacher, teacher, and administrator. While these roles may appear to be obvious, our survey results indicated that we are looking for a pastor
who also has mastery of the following attributes and characteristics:

Sincere Spiritual Leader - “Be able to communicate faith and beliefs that we find in the Bible.”

the love and presence of God, resulting in times of joyous exultation and times of quiet reverence.

• Striving to Grow Spiritually

Focusing on growing “deeper” in personal faith as a follower of Jesus Christ, knowing God more intimately, developing greater sensitivity to the leadership of the Holy Spirit, and being responsible and

communicating the mission and vision both inside and outside of the congregation.

Teacher - “Using strong Biblical knowledge, teach us what God is telling us through the Bible, how to apply that knowledge in our daily lives,
and challenge us to walk the way of Christ.”

• Teacher

Educates the congregation during sermons, small groups, and individually, based on sound biblical principles. Challenges the status quo and shows us how to apply new knowledge to our lives.

• Communicator

Displays excellent interpersonal skills that relate to people of all ages. Demonstrates enhanced verbal and written skills as well as a great sense of humor.

• Mental & Physical Health

Strives for a balanced life in order to maintain physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being and, in doing so, is a worthy example to the staff, congregation, and community.

• Personal Integrity

Exemplifies an effective ministry that flows out of a passionate spirituality, Christ-like character, and a clear sense of God’s calling. Displays sound moral principles, honesty, and sincerity in such a

manner that will set the tone for the staff and church.

Administrator - “Provide direction so that we can achieve and maintain a high level of spiritual and administrative leadership.”

• Encourager and Provisioner

Empowers, motivates, and equips the congregation to use their talents and gifts to spread the “good news” to their families, community, and the world.

• Team Builder

Builds consensus and prepares people to take on responsibility and authority in ministry activity. Commits to delegate as much authority and responsibility as possible to both the staff and the

congregational leadership. Gives leadership to our congregations’ boards, committees. Lead with authenticity in accordance with the Constitution and Bylaws of our congregation.

• Commitment to Outreach

Sets the pace for meeting the needs of our local community and looks for ways to offer Christian compassion on a broader scale.

• Strategic Thinker

Sees the “big picture”. Guided by the mission and vision statement, motivated by the challenge, and prepared by prior experiences, Scripture, and the leadership of the Holy Spirit, provides the strategic
direction and tactical concepts, utilizing collaborative approaches, that will propel the church forward.

• Open-mindedness

Receptive to new thoughts, concepts, and ideas, and does not shy away from the possibility of change and failure, as taking calculated risks enables our church to step forward into possibilities that God
has in store for us.
