Pastor Search Initial Questionnaire

So that the Pastor Search Team can better assess how you might “fit” with our congregation, please share, in writing, how your personal convictions align with the following statements, and provide specific examples from your ministry, if appropriate.

1. The Bible is the infallible and final authority of God’s Word.

2. The church and its pastors are the guardians of the truth. They must be committed to speaking the truth of the word of God in love, even if it’s inconvenient.

3. There are many different preaching styles. Describe yours.

4. Titus 1:5-9 and 1Timothy 3:1-7 detail qualifications needed for a pastor. Do you agree? Is this applicable to us in today’s culture?

5. Serving in an evangelical interdenominational church presents rewards, opportunities and challenges, how comfortable would you be in this situation?

6. Our website, https://bvcc.net, contains our statement of faith, which can be found under the About tab and in the section What We Believe. Share with the team how this statement
     aligns and how it differs from your personal statement of faith.

7. Life is a precious gift from God. Describe your understanding of what is meant by the term - sanctity of all life in all stages. What are your personal and professional views?

8. How does the Bible define marriage? How does that compare to how our current culture defines marriage? How does that compare to how you define marriage?
